For hundreds of years, master potters have turned their wheels, creating countless jugs, bowls and cups, decorated according to traditions passed down through generations.

Their greatest pride is the Horezu Rooster. Long ago, the rooster was the alarm clock of the people who lived here. When they heard its call, they knew it was time to gather their tools and begin the day’s work. Over time, they began painting its distinctive form in warm colours on their clay vessels.
